The Amazing Nutrition in Pure Ghee

Ghee has been used for decades in the Indian kitchen. Today it seems to have gotten a bad name and is linked
to obesity, heart disease and weight gain.

Ghee is a saturated fat like coconut oil. It is a medium chain fat and not a long chain fatty acid, which simply means
that it can be absorbed by the human body. All saturated fats are not bad for the health, and ghee is one of them,

I'm talking about pure ghee and not the vanaspati or refined versions. Those are definitely a BIG NO.

Pure ghee used in moderation is excellent for the health and is also known to reduce cholesterol levels.

Pure ghee lines the stomach linings making your digestive system stronger.

Pure ghee promotes a healthy bowel movement and contributes to great stools.

Excellent for eye health.

Ghee is rich in antioxidants and helps in the absorption of vitamins and minerals from other foods
into the system.

Strengthens the immune system.

Boosts memory retention.

Stimulates the secretion of stomach acids which help in digestion and break down of foods.

Promotes healthy skin.

Is an excellent cooking medium as it has a high smoke point, which means less free radicals when cooking.

Pure ghee in small quantities is excellent, but we must not forget that it is still a fat and fat needs to be used in moderation,
especially if you already have heart disease or if you are struggling to lose weight.

Modern diets rich in sugars, processed ingredients and refined oils have no place for pure ghee.

if you want to introduce pure ghee into your diet, you need to cut down on your consumption
of other oily foods, aerated drinks, sugar and high salt foods.

Ghee has medicinal properties and forms an integral part of ayurvedic healing.

Use it in moderation and enjoy.
