Boost Your Immunity

With the onset of the rains and changing weather, it is common for us to
fall sick, especially children. This happens when our immune system is not
strong enough to fight of infections.

The stronger our immunity, the faster we recover when we fall sick, and we
are less susceptible to catching infections.

Even the healthiest of people fall sick, when a stray virus or germ infects
a cell, but a healthy person’s immune system will be better equipped to
quickly destroy the virus or germ, allowing for a faster recovery.

If your immune system is weak, it will take longer for you to recover and
easier for you to fall ill.

A strong immune system wards of infections and diseases. In cases of cancer, the stronger the immunity,
the better the chance to fight it, and this applies to all diseases.

So what can you do to build a strong immune system?

Your first line of defense is to choose a healthy lifestyle. Following general good-health guidelines is the single best step you can
take toward keeping your immune system strong and healthy. Every part of your body, including your immune system,
functions better when protected from environmental assaults and bolstered by healthy-living strategies such as these:

  • Don’t smoke.

  • Eat a diet high in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and low in saturated fat.
  • Exercise regularly.

  • Maintain a healthy weight.

  • Control your blood pressure.

  • If you drink alcohol, drink only in moderation.

  • Get adequate sleep.

  • Take steps to avoid infection, such as washing your hands frequently and cooking meats thoroughly.

  • Get regular medical screening tests for people in your age group and risk category.

Exercise: ( keep your blood circulation at it’s peak) – walk, run, skip,
swim, yoga, weights, zumba, sports. It’s your choice, do something you
    like.

Sleep: 7 hours minimum. Your immune system strengthens while you sleep.
Your body needs rest to rejuvenate and repair itself, to stay strong.

Eat: Besides eating regular small meals and staying hydrated, load up on
foods rich in Vitamin C. Vitamin C is responsible for strong immunity and a
host of other functions which will require a separate mail to be written.

Here is a list of foods that can build your immunity very quickly.

Of course you have the option to pop a vitamin ( which you should only if
your doctor advises), but otherwise you should be getting your vitamin C
